Best Water Repellent Coating for Car Side Mirrors
1. Can I wipe Soft99 Glaco Mirror Coat Zero?
No you must never wipe or touch the coating after applying it. The microscopic V shaped structure that repels the water is extremely delicate. If you wipe it with a cloth or touch it with your finger you will crush the structure and destroy the hydrophobic effect immediately. It is a "spray and leave" product only.
2. How long does Mirror Coat Zero last?
Soft99 Glaco Mirror Coat Zero lasts until it is mechanically removed. Because it is delicate it will remain effective for months as long as you do not touch it wash it with a mitt or spray it with high pressure water. We recommend reapplying it whenever you notice the water beading performance starting to drop.
3. Can I use Mirror Coat Zero on my windshield?
No this product is not suitable for windshields or front windows. Because the coating cannot withstand friction the first swipe of your wiper blades would remove it completely. For windshields you should use Soft99 Ultra Glaco which is specifically designed to be durable against wiper abrasion and high speed wind.
4. Does it work on heated mirrors?
Yes you can use Soft99 Glaco Mirror Coat Zero on heated side mirrors. However since the coating effectively prevents water from ever sitting on the surface you may find that you need to use the heating function less often. Ensure the mirror is cool and dry before you apply the spray to get the best bond.
